Jane Ellison

Jane Ellison, EdD, is Director Emeritus of Thinking Collaborative. She presents workshops nationally and internationally to educators on Cognitive Coaching, Adaptive Schools, change and transition, presentation skills, facilitation skills and quality professional development. She is co-author of Cognitive Coaching: Weaving Threads of Learning and Change into the Culture of an Organization; Effective School Leadership: Developing Principals with Cognitive Coaching; and a contributing author to the 3rd Edition of Cognitive Coaching: A Foundation for Renaissance Schools.

Jane is a former elementary teacher, principal and director, who now lives in Denver. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education and Social Sciences from SMU, a M.Ed. in Elementary Supervision from the University of North Texas, and an EdD. in Administration from VPI&SU, Blacksburg, Virginia. Her experience includes work in public schools in Texas, West Virginia, Illinois and Colorado; teaching graduate classes in South America; attending Principals’ Institutes at Columbia and Harvard Universities; and chairing the Board of Directors of the Principal’s Center at the University of Colorado, Denver. She was trained with Gallup as a Teacher and Principal Perceiver Specialist.
